I’ve been with InMotion Hosting since: May 4 be with you in 2015
How did you get started in web hosting?
My journey in the web hosting industry started with InMotion Hosting (IMH).
Before joining IMH, I worked for an online company that sold swimming pools. Then I took a few years off to focus on raising my children.
When I decided to re-enter the workforce, I started an entry-level role at IMH in the InMotion Websites division. A year later, I moved to the BoldGrid team, where I have remained ever since.
What is your current role at InMotion Hosting? What do you like most about it?
My main responsibilities are quality assurance (QA) for BoldGrid themes and plugins, along with creating new designs for the BoldGrid system. I also lend my QA expertise when needed on other company products such as InMotion Central. I recently played an important role in the migration of inmotionhosting.com to WordPress and continue to make QA updates to the site. Currently, my main focus revolves around making sure that all the websites I work on adhere to ADA accessibility standards.
One of the reasons I enjoy my job is its constant variety. Each day presents a unique experience as I work with different people and departments. I also have the opportunity to constantly learn new things.
What would you like to say about yourself?
I really enjoy WordCamps and have had the privilege of speaking 4 times about teaching block coding to kids. Before the pandemic, I visited my son’s classroom once a month to lead them in coding activities, which was incredibly rewarding.
I play a lot of video and board games in my free time. Gloomhaven and Sentinels of the Multiverse are two of my favorite board games. And I love Star Wars!!
